What are dust mites and their effects?
Dust mites are microscopic spiders known to be the main responsible agents for perennial allergic disorders, such as rhinitis and bronchial asthma and skin conditions such as eczema. Mites live in house dust and in bed components, feeding on human dead skin cells and producing highly allergenic faecal pellets. Early exposure to dust mites can trigger the development of asthma, eczema and other allergies including pollen. Early prevention is the most important step in protecting children from these life-long problems.
